Balkan Express

Open road trip offering the Best of the Western Balkans, visiting fine sites as Rila Monastery in Bulgaria, Ohrid in Macedonia, Berat in Albania, Kotor in Montenegro, Dubrovnik, Trogir and Split in Croatia

Day 1 - Arrival in Sofia. Visit to Rila Monastery (regarded as one of Bulgaria's most important cultural, historical and architectural monuments).

Day 2 - Early morning drive to Bitola in Macedonia. Explore the town in the afternoon, including a visit to the Roman ruins at Heraclea Lyncestis (spectacular mosaics)

Day 3 - Morning drive to Ohrid. City tour in the afternoon.

Day 4 - Morning drive to Berat in Albania. City tour in the afternoon.

Day 5 - Drive to Kruje and spending the afternoon walking the castle and visiting the Skanderbeg museum

Day 6 - Drive to Kotor in Montenegro. City tour in the afternoon.

Day 7 - Drive to Cavtat in Croatia, as en route we can stop by Perast and take a boat ride to the Our Lady of the Rocks islet

Day 8 - Visit Dubrovnik as on the way to the old town you can enjoy a pleasant boat ride

Day 9 - Leave to Trogir. City tour in the afternoon.

Day 10 - Visit to the old town in Split, where you will see the Diocletian's palace

Day 11 - Departure to Zagreb
