Wine and history along the Danube river
Day 1 - Drive from Varna towards the endless Danube Plains, as en route we will visit Salla Estate and the newly build Tsarev Brod winery, offering the unique for Bulgaria "Gergana" wine (a white hybrid sort of grape, selected by crossing Dimiat and Muscat Ottonel)
Day 2 - Morning visit to the Museum of Transport in Ruse showing a remarkable collection of old engines and coaches (including the private carriages of the Bulgarian King and Sultan Abdul-Azis).
Lunch and wine taste at the Leventa winery located in the rooms of a XIX century Turkish fort and then continue to the Seven Generations winery revealing beautiful views to the Danube river and the local vineyards
Day 3 - Morning visit to the small family owned Pirgovo winery, then on to Svishtov where you will see the ruins of Novae - Roman legionary camp. Afternoon drive to Lukovit as en route we will pop by the "Eyes of God" cave
Day 4 - Extensive visit to Burgozone winery build by the ruins of a small Roman fort and then drive to Vidin in the North-Western corner of Bulgaria.
Day 5 - Morning walk to the Baba Vida fortress and then on to Magura winery, located in the famous cave featuring 10 000 years old prehistoric drawings
Day 6 - Visit to Borovitsa winery snuggled against the dramatic Belogradchik Rocks.
Drive back to Sofia via the scenic Iskar Gorge
